The 'Bubble' team joins CBCC and concludes our Creator Corner month with an epic conversation.
Over on the podcast, we've been talking to a lot of rad people. This conversation with one-half of the Bubble creative team concludes a month's worth of Creator Corners (that started with Rob Williams talkin' Judge Dredd: End of Days), and we're feeling so incredibly lucky to have chatted with so many brilliant brains. Our love tanks our full.
And it looks like you wonderful listeners have been enjoying these chats as well! Thank you for spreading the love and leaving such kind reviews. It means the world to us.
Bubble, the new graphic novel from First Second Books, is an incredible and addictive read. It's the kind of book you don't want to put down until you're done. Based on the narrative podcast of the same name, creator Jordan Morris translates the story exceptionally with his co-writer Sarah Morgan, artist Tony Cliff, and colorist Natalie Riess.
The comic covers all the genres: science fiction, action, comedy, relationship drama, etc. All of them work, and all blend beautifully into each other. Even better, we can prove that whether you've listened to the original podcast (like Lisa) or never got the chance (like Brad), you're gonna enjoy the comic as its own separate entity. Get this book in the right hands, and obsessions will be made.
We were delighted to have both Jordan and Tony on the show to talk the adaptation process. We definitely get into the nitty gritty details, but we also tear right into the characters. Bubble is a comic with a lot of potential as far as our podcast desires are concerned, and we wouldn't be surprised if the story returns to the main show at some point in the future.
With that in mind, on this week's Creator Corner interview, we go guns blazing with the relationship talk. We couldn't help ourselves. We had to put Jordan and Tony on the spot and force them to take The Five Love Languages quiz for their characters. They did a damn good job answering these questions, and it's a blast of a listen.
If you want to hear an extended cut of this interview, join our Patreon community by clicking HERE. There, Jordan and Tony discuss what they've been watching, and name their OTP comic book couples.
Bubble hits bookstores on July 13th. If you're like us, you're already buying all the First Second releases, but if you need a link for more info on where to score your copy, click HERE.
